On Sunday, March 22, 2009, after crossing 6 continents and 17 countries, the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk-a-Long, a Global outreach program of Spirit of Truth Foundation will come to Columbia, SC. The walkers will speak about the three initiatives of the walk: Peace Education, Environmental Sustainability and Fitness and Wellness at Bethel AME Church 819 Woodrow St , with Dr. Ronnie Brelsford,who along with his congregation has decided to make Wellness an important aspect of their daily practice. The walk-a-long will begin at the church at 1pm make a stop at the Capital and will end at Finlay Park where performances by a cross-cultural array of artists such as: Columbia’s own ,Hi-Rize, Ibile Afrikan Drummers and Dancers and Cheri Maree. This walk-a-long, a part of the final leg of an historic three and a half year journey around the world promoting peace and understanding among people of all nations, cultures and religions will be led by Audri Scott Williams, Karen Watson and Tony Shina and their team of people carrying Flags from all the countries in which the walkers have served, helping to build, clean up, feed the hungry and almost anything the community required. These services have afforded them a humanitarian award, the Bowes Award from United Religious Initiatives,

At the park, there will be various Speakers focusing on the three initiatives of the walk and the Spirit of Truth Foundation’s commitment to social justice, environmental justice, and world peace through a grassroots approach.
