Despite skepticism in the rest of the world, most Americans appear to accept that U.S. foreign policy is driven by a desire to institute democracies around the globe. Difficulties in doing so are usually attributed to the inability of non-Americans to “understand” and “appreciate” the benefits of democracy and freedom.

Welcome to the CPRC Army Men Project PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 10 December 2005

Inspired by the Mouths Wide Open Army Men Project, the CPRC is spreading plastic army men around South Carolina, labeled with the message "Bring me home now!" With an all-"volunteer" military serving in a foreign land, it is easy for us on the homefront to forget about the war, especially in the holiday season. These little green or khaki soldiers are a reminder of the hardships that our friends and family members are suffering in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that we at home have a duty to them to bring them home now.

Want to help spread the message? Here's how:

Get pre-labelled army men:

The CPRC has a limited amount of plastic army men and labels that you can pick up at our office.

Make your own:

You can get plastic army men at any drug store, discount store, or toy store. Here is a PDF file that you can download and print out for your own army men. It is formatted for Avery 05422 Multi-Use labels, which you can get at any office store.

Then spread the plastic!

Whether you get army men from us, or make your own, you can help by spreading them around your hometown. Leave them on shelves or in dressing rooms when you go shopping, or leave them on the gas pump when you buy gas.

Take photos!

We'll be starting an army men section of our gallery as we receive photos. When you place an army man, or come across one in your day-to-day activities, take a photograph and email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . We'll add it to the gallery.

URGENT PATRIOT Act Update: Calls needed now! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Wednesday, 07 December 2005

A tentative "deal" has been reached on the Patriot Act reauthorization. The compromise (Conference Report on H.R. 3199, the “USA PATRIOT and Terrorism Prevention Reauthorization Act of 2005”) does not contain even the modest reforms in Senate bill S. 1389. It differs from the pre-Thanksgiving version only in that its sunsets on sections 206, 215, and "lone wolf" have been reduced from 7 years to 4 years. The compromise is unacceptable.
