Rally calling for a REAL exit strategy from Iraq, handing over Iraq to Iraqis and bringing our troops home.

Featuring...
Elaine Johnson, Military Families Speak Out, Mother of Spc. Darius Jennings, age 22,  killed in action in Iraq in November 2003 when his Chinook helicopter was shot down, taking his life and the lives of fifteen other soldiers.  Since then, she has committed herself to speaking out to end the war in Iraq, bring our troops home, and take care of them.
 
Brett Bursey, SC Progressive Network, long-time SC activist and director of the SC Progressive Network, Bursey received national attention when he was arrested for carrying a sign that read "No Blood for Oil" at a President Bush rally in Columbia, SC. 
Kelley Culver, Veterans for Peace, Retired USAF Major Kelley Culver served in the first Iraq war,  Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm as a squadron commander; he is now a member of Veterans for Peace, Chapter 125 in Atlanta.

Tom Turnipseed, Civil Rights & Peace Activist, Lawyer, writer, radio talk show host, and activist, Tom Turnipseed also served awhile back as a State Senator representing the Aiken area.  Since then, he has been very active in the Antiracism movement and peace movements, serving on the board of the Carolina Peace Resource Center.
Memorial Scroll- Honoring the over 2,800 US servicemen killed in the Iraq war.

USC- A&S; women's studies, Freeman lecture

"As a video artist & filmmaker, Prof Cobb works w/city youth via community-based organizations. The youth projects include the documentaries "Sign of the Times" 1993; "Enough is enough: Timeout for the Sellout," 1994. Her research includes her award-winning documentary "No Justice, No Peace," 1992.

CPRC Signs Sustainable Energy Blueprint PDF Print E-mail

CPRC is one of 145 organizations signing the Sustainable Energy Blueprint that outlines a "plausible strategy for achieving a no-nuclear, low-carbon, highly-efficient and sustainable energy future."

The blueprint provides a timeframe and series of policy recommendations for rapidlyexpanding the use of energy efficient and renewable energy technologies to enable a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gases while simultaneously phasing out nuclear power and ending most energy imports.
