House Passes Iraq Withdrawal Plan; Contact SC Senators! PDF Print E-mail

Lindsay Graham The US House of Representatives has passed an Iraq withdrawal bill calling for a phased pull-out of US troops from Iraq to be completed by April 2008. Now this same plan will go for a vote in the US Senate next week, but it faces stiff opposition especially from SC Senators Lindsey Graham and Jim Demint. Its time to put the pressure on them to compromise and bring our troops home from Iraq.

We ask you today to urge Columbia City Council to vote "Yes" for Hospitality Tax funding to support Collaborative for Community Trust facility operation of the Modjeska Simkins Historic Site. This Spring, the Collaborative for Community Trust applied for2007-2008 Hospitality Tax funds administered by City of Columbia;we submitted an additional written request asking for those fundsto support the Collaborative's operation of the Modjeska SimkinsCenter. This will include paying the debt that will resolve the threats to this historic site.
