All Things Considered, January 24, 2005 · Mounting casualties in Iraq and new access given the military to high school students under federal law have made some counselors wary. While they they understand that the military can offer opportunity, they also know that service is not as appealing as recruitment materials make it seem.

Painter, author and activist Ellen O'Grady will give a presentation and sign copies of her new book "Outside the Ark", which includes her artwork. Ellen O'Grady has spent many years living in the Israeli-occupied territories, most recently with Palestinian family in the West Bank in 2002. She had recreated her experiences through her paintings.
