Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie met her untimely death as an advocate for peace through non-violence in the Israeli-Palestine conflict. She was protecting a home of a non-combatant Palestinian family when she was crushed by Israeli construction worker's American made bulldozer in Rafah, Palestine on March 16, 2003.

This evening is dedicated to her ideal for social justice. It is best for innocents to defend innocence, display heart, soul, enthusiasm as we attempt to foster peace in areas for those caught within the web of armed conflict. We need to acknowledge those that have sacrificed their lives for humanitarian goals. Rachel Corrie was one such person.

Join us Thursday March 16, 2006 with Song, and Poetry to remember the strength Rachel Corrie epitomizes for us. "A Night of Remembrance for Rachel Corrie" begins 8 pm. at the Artists' Basement, 2013 Devine St. Columbia, SC in Five Points.
