The movie, An Inconvenient Truth, will be showing at Columbiana Grande on Harbison starting this coming weekend. On Sunday, July, 2nd, a group of us will be attending the 4:20 showing, and then meeting at the Tap Room, a restaurant next to the theatre to discuss the movie.
By conservation, a reduction in emissions and political activism, a solution is possible, Gore said.
"The solutions are more accessible than people thought," he said. "We can do this."

The Midlands feminist group the Grimke Sisters will show the hour-long documentary "Rebel Hearts" about Sarah and Angelina Grimke, for whom the group is named. The Grimkes were abolitionists and women's rights advocates from Charleston who lectured and organized beginning in the 1830s. I was honored and humbled to be in the presence of holy man, Thich Nhat Hahn, today at MacArthur Park in a very Hispanic neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Thay (teacher), as he is known, is a Buddhist monk who was active during the Vietnam War years, bringing peace and reconciliation to the countries of North and South Vietnam. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. He walks with an aura of peace and acceptance radiating from him.

The 17th annual Pastors for Peace caravan carrying material aid to Cuba will be coming to Columbia, SC on June 27th.
Food will be provided by CPRC and volunteers, and music will be provided by the socially conscious hip-hop group, Kindablu.
The event starts at 6:30 PM at Benedict Community Park on Laurel Street between Oak and Waverly.
Help is needed to host one or more of the fifteen caravan participants and to help provide food for the event. Contact Norma Jackson at
