For those of us in the South, fall is one of the most pleasant and rewarding times for planting. Kick off this growing season with a party at the Edisto Court Community Garden!
DRUMS! DIRT! DISCUSSION!
CPRC Common Ground Picnic
Wiley Street (between South Edisto and Superior Streets)
October 1, 2006, Sunday
11:00 a.m. to evening
Join Edisto Court neighbors as they harvest produce for competition in the State Fair and get the garden ready for planting.
Children from the Unitarian Universalist Sunday School who are studying Buddism will celebrate the garden as a principle of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. We will explore for worms and butterflies, discuss compost, plant seeds, pull weeds, and get good and dirty and meditate.
World famous West African Master Drummer Amara Camara will perform from noon until ? (tipping keeps them playing). Guitars and percussion instruments will be available.
All poets and artists welcome. The picnic will be a great opportunity
for inspiring photography, drawing, painting, and composition.
Sara will crank up the grill (you could bring Bocca burgers/Tofu pups)
and any other good food to share; she will have cold melon and iced
tea. Bring friends, family, or a whole 'nother church group to share in the
fun.
Contact Sara at 237-3322.

On October 5, people everywhere will walk out of school, take off work, and come to the downtowns & townsquares and set out from there, going through the streets and calling on many more to join us - making a powerful statement: "NO! THIS REGIME DOES NOT REPRESENT US! AND WE WILL DRIVE IT OUT!"
