In Columbia, SC you are invited to attend a vigil to commemorate the death of 3000 U.S. soldiers at 5:30pm - 7:00pm, on Sunday, December 31st, on the sidewalk in front of Wachovia, across from WJB Dorn VA Medical Center, 6439 Garners Ferry Road (map to this location). Park behind Wachovia at Landmark Square shopping center.

Please bring candles to hold; dress warmly.

The 2007 Calendar is dedicated to the memory of Ghassan Kanafani, a Palestinian artist and novelist assassinated 35 years ago. The proceeds from the sales of the 2007 Colors from Palestine will support Kanafani Cultural foundation and other Palestinian cultural organizations. scholarship posterCPRC is proud to announce a scholarship for students attending high school s in South Carolina during the 2006-2007 academic school year.

Projects and proposals should promote, advocate, or express peace and justice through artistic displays, educational activities, or organizational events that reach other youth.

First Place: $400.00; Second place $100.00.

Entries must be received by Jan. 30, 2007.

Projects can range from visual arts, music, or drama to puppetry, audio/video production, organized campaigns on particular issues, or demonstrations such as a teaching plan for a civics course.
