The Bush administration and his followers in congress are planning the shipping of the nation’s irradiated nuclear fuel to SC. The amount of fuel to be shipped is on the order of 14,000 times greater than the amount of radioactivity currently in the Barnwell dump. And this is not including any waste from the extended licenses that are being granted, or any new reactors, or any waste from outside the United States to be shipped to SC according to the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership plan which would take nuclear waste from all over the world, make plutonium fuel, and supply it to the partners.

South Carolina Picture Project PDF Print E-mail

The SCIway site says: "One of the best things about living in South Carolina is that everywhere you look, there is so much beauty! And even though our state is small in size, it is great in diversity. We have beaches, rivers, swamps, forests, mountains, and waterfalls. We have large cities and small towns. We have historic homes, elegant bridges, and buildings of extraordinary craftsmanship. When you hear that SC is the spot for "Smiling Faces and Beautiful Places," it's easy to understand why. In honor of this, SCIway is proud to introduce our South Carolina Picture Project. This online gallery contains over 50 photos and paintings so far, and we add more every week. Anyone can submit his or her image for review. We create unique pages for each selected entry, and we also include descriptions so other people can learn about the special places in our state."

CPRC SUGGESTION: since one set of photos at this website includes war re-enactors, we suggest people send peace-related photos taken at scenic spots and see if they're accepted!! Have a picnic with your friends at a picturesque spot, wearing peace T-shirts, or lie on the ground to form a giant peace symbol! Or send a photo of your community garden!
