Local activist and attorney, Tom Turnipseed will be a guest on Awareness on WIS-TV at 10AM this Sunday,November 18, to discuss a story about him in the new book "Boom, Voices of the Sixties", by Tom Brokaw. Awareness airs Sundays at 10am on WIS News 10 with Craig Melvin hosting. The new Brokaw book includes stories about Cleveland Sellers who was persecuted for the Orangeburg Massacre and is now head of African-American studies at USC, and Tom from South Carolina.(Cleve will be on Awareness too). The book features many other people from around the country much more well known than Tom Turnipseed or Cleve Sellers. The stories about Tom and Cleve involve racial injustice and politics. NBC Universal is also doing a documentary about the book for the History Channel that will include Tom and Cleveland. It is listed as "1968 with Tom Brokaw" on the History Channel, Sunday, December 9 at 9PM. PR Newswire
