SHUT DOWN GUANTANAMO! Restore Habeas Corpus, Restore Our Constitution!

12:00 pm
Strom Thurmond Federal Building

This Friday marks the sixth anniversary of the opening of the United States prison camp in Guantanamo Cuba. Since 2002, 775 people have been held in a state of legal limbo, many forced to endure psychological and physical torture. People has young as 13 and as old as 98 have had to sweat it out behind the barbed wire Guantanamo prison. The Bush Administration has claimed that Guantanamo contains the worst of the worst terrorists, but yet not a single prisoner has had a fair trial. They have all been denied their rights to Habeas Corpus. Guantanamo has justly shattered America's esteem in the world. It's time to try or release all the prisoners and SHUT DOWN GUANTANAMO!

Senators Lindsay Graham and Jim Demint have supported to Guantanamo since its inceptions and have been working to make sure that none of the detainees is allowed to step foot in the United States mainland in order to receive a fair trial.

Join us this Friday, January 11, at 12 noon in front of the Strom Thurmond Federal Building. Tell your Senators and the Bush Administration that 6 years is 6 years too many. Come in an orange jumpsuit, bring shackles, be creative in order to show the horrors of Guantanamo, or else come as you are. We will have speakers, cardboard prisoners, readings from Guantanamo detainees, and then we'll march.
