Mar. 24: Rosewood Community Garden Meeting PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lori Donath
Tuesday, 18 March 2008
The third spring planning meeting for people interested in planting and summer workshops at the Rosewood Community Garden will happen this week.

When: Monday, March 24, 5:30 pm (alternating Mondays)
Where: 1100 S. Holly St., behind the Ben Arnold Center.

Please join us if you are interested in planting or with helping with summer workshops. Call 803-I-GO-CPRC if you can't make it. Click "more" to see information on how to join the discussion list, a map, and notes on the March 18 meeting.
New Discussion List:
Anyone (with email access) who's interested in working on the
project can join the discussion, and can send messages to the others in
the group. (This is instead of everything coming directly from me, or
else ya'll having to type in a list of email addresses that might not
stay current). We'll have to see how much activity we produce! You can
choose to receive the discussion as a daily digest, in the event that we
begin sending several per day. To get on and to see how to use the list,
go to:

http://carolinapeace.org/mailman/listinfo/communitygardening_carolinapeace.org

Call the office (803-I-GO-CPRC) and leave a message if you would be interested in  planting with the children in the front flower garden for a couple hours after school M, T, or Th.

We will have separate meetings later on about 1) planting at the Edisto Court Garden and 2) interest in the third annual children's summer workshop with the Boy's & Girl's Club.

Tues., March 18 Meeting Notes

Actually, Kim and Billy also met on Monday at 5:30 p.m. because I had caused some email confusion. Kim reported that they took stock of the plants and Billy introduced the idea of burying bottles in the ground (with holes in them) to gradually release water. Kim made a plan for the garden, which she and daughter Eve shared with Mike, Paul, Sara, Dee Dee and I on Tuesday. We will meet on Monday Mar. 21 at 5:30 and divide up planting. Lori will bring summer seeds; Kim will bring flats; Mike will bring soil.
