Since the Virginia Tech massacre, there have been repeated calls for tightening up lax gun regulations to prevent easy access to guns for criminals and the mentally unstable who are a danger to themselves and others.  Such reforms could be enacted without placing an undue burden on responsible gun owners including hunters and those who own firearms for self-defense. Yet, state legislatures (especially SC!) and Congress have been slow to act.

The Columbia Statehouse lie-in will be joined by lie-in protests in Charleston, SC, Rock Hill, SC,  at the National Capitol and at Supreme Court and in more than 80 cities across the U.S. participating in the National Lie-In sponsored by Protest Easy Guns.com.
