Pending execution of James Earl Reed
 
The State Supreme Court set the date of execution for the 20th of June 2008.

The state will conduct the execution as required by the laws of the State of  South Carolina at 6 PM on the 20th day of June.

Previous death certificates for inmates executed by the state have said cause of death is homicide.

Schedule of events:

Silent vigil scheduled for 6:30 PM on Thursday 19 June at the Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Chapel (behind main building), 1610 Greene Street, Columbia, SC. This vigil is open to all sides and healing prayers are for family and friends from both sides.

No speakers per se, but anyone is welcome to stand up and express thoughts on forgiveness and healing which is the focus of the vigil.

Silent candle light protest at Governor's mansion is scheduled after the Thursday night vigil.

Anyone is welcome to participate. To date there has been no commutation of a death sentence by our governor.

Execution protest vigil scheduled to start about 5 PM on June 20 in front of the Department of Corrections administration building, 4444 Broad River Road.

Execution scheduled for 6 PM.
Signs will be available after 4 PM.
