Seven-year-old
Rusul is the younger sister of Salee Allawe who received double
prostheses through the generosity of Greenville’s Shriners Hospital
last year. Rusul’s right leg was
severely injured in the U.S. missile strike that took Salee’s legs
and killed her brother on November 7, 2006 in Hasswa, Iraq. Rusul
will also be receiving care at Shriners, where doctors are almost
certain that Rusul’s leg will have to be amputated and replaced by
a prosthetic. Rusul and her father Hussen, will stay at Ronald
McDonald House of the Carolinas in Greenville throughout their stay.
