CBC Watch Awards Clyburn "F" on Report Card for 2008 | Print |  E-mail

Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC) was among the members of the Congressional Black Caucus who received a grade of F from CBC Watch, an African-American public interest group that monitors and reports on selected legislation. Rep. Clyburn's overall score was 50% on eight pieces of legislation. The bills and Clyburn's votes were as follows:

HR 1424 – Emergency Economic Supplemental Act of 2008 – included additional “pork” spending, increasing the original price tag from $700 Billion to $840 Billion Dollars (aye)

HR 3997 – Amended Version of Emergency Economic Supplemental Act of 2008 - without the “pork” – orig. tag of $700 billion dollars. (aye)

CBC Watch opposed both Wall Street bailout bills.

HR 2634 – Jubilee Act for Responsible Lending and Expanded Debt Collection Act (aye)

CBC Watch supported this bill.

HR 5658 – Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2009 (aye)

CBC Watch opposed this bill.

HR 6304 – FISA Amendment Act of 2008 (aye)

CBC Watch opposed this bill.

HR 6275 – Alternative Minimum Tax Relief Act of 2008 (aye)

CBC Watch supported this bill.

HR 5244 – Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights Act of 2008 (aye)

CBC Watch supported this bill.

HR 7060 – Renewable Energy and Job Creation Tax Act of 2008 (aye)
