"The Dawn of Religious Freedom in South Carolina" Guest Speaker: Dr. Lewis Burke When: 6:00 PM, Sunday, December 7 Where: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 2701 Heyward Street (Corner of Heyward and Woodrow Streets in Shandon) South Carolina has a history of religious tolerance that may surprise you. Our guest speaker at our next Americans United meeting will explore this history from the founding of the colony of South Carolina through the 1800s. Dr. Lewis Burke, chair of the Dept. of Clinical Legal Studies at the USC Law School, will present "The Dawn of Religious Freedom in South Carolina" on December 7th. In regard to the license plate lawsuit ... the Dept. of Motor Vehicles is taking orders for the "I Believe" tag and has announced that it will begin issuing it in December, and AU has asked the Court for a preliminary injunction barring its release.
