This week, May 15 - May 20, join the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, the ACLU, People for the American Way, and other organizations in a National Call-in to let your members of Congress know that it is their job to hold the President accountable.

It's time to register our outrage that the President broke the law by permitting the wiretapping of Americans without warrants!

Other Legislator Numbers

Join the Bill of Rights Defense Committee in a National Call-in to let your members of Congress know that it is their job to hold the President accountable. We need to tell Congress to protect us from unreasonable searches and seizures and find out how many Americans are being wiretapped, in violation of the law.

Help us by calling Congress and saying, “Investigate, don't legislate.”

This week (May 15-20) call the Capitol switchboard, 202-224-3121, and ask the operator to connect you (24 hours a day) or call your legislators directly (find their Washington office phone numbers at http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/). Tell Congress that we want to know how many Americans have had their phone calls or emails eavesdropped on by the NSA without any check. No more secrecy. No more law-breaking. We want to know, and we want to know now.

What to do:

Please phone each of your Senators, and your Representative:

  • Call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 (24 hours) and ask the operator to connect you,
    OR
  • Use the BORDC call-in page to find your legislators' phone numbers and to let us know how your calls went,
    OR
  • Call your legislators' district offices. Find their phone numbers in your phone book or call your local library.

What to say:

A simple message is best. Choose one or two points from below or find other suggestions on our call-in page.

  • Overburdening the FBI with thousands of false leads leaves them less time and fewer resources to go after the real terrorists.
  • What's needed is an immediate, full and unrestricted public investigation into the NSA spying program, including a probe into the massive database collecting Americans' phone calls.

Can't get through right away? Many people must be phoning Congress. Keep your calls coming! If you prefer not to wait, call the next day or phone the district office.
