U.S. Army First Lieutenant Ehren Watada is the first commissioned officer to publicly pledge to refuse deployment to the unlawful Iraq war and occupation. A showdown with the military is imminent with his scheduled deployment as soon as Thursday, June 22. Supporters nationwide are mounting a national day of action on Tuesday, June 27 . The military has already launched an investigation into Lt. Watada’s continued speech in opposition to the illegal Iraq War.
Lt. Watada is not a consciencious objector, but rather is acting in
accordance with his right and duty to refuse illegal orders, under
principles established during the Nuremberg trials after World War II. Your support, including donations to Lt. Watada’s defense fund , are urgently needed today. For more information, please see the website \"Thank you Lt. Ehren Watada for refusing an illegal war.\"
