CPRC is holding a meeting for CPRC volunteers and interested people to talk about strategies, to let people know what we are doing and how they can help. The meeting will be held at Location: Tranquility , 224 State Street, West Columbia, 803-926-7480 When: Wednesday, February 7th starting at 7:00pm The meeting will start with a short program about upcoming hearings at North Augusta about reprocessing of nuclear fuel. The hearing is about the environmental impact of a proposal by the DOE and the Bush administration to ship tens of thousands of truckloads of nuclear waste from power plants to a reprocessing facility (likely to be the Savannah River Site) where the waste will be turned into plutonium and large volumes of highly radioactive liquid waste. Following the presentation, we will discuss the various things CPRC is doing, how people can help, answer questions, and set a time for regular monthly meetings.
