John Hartz, SC Sierra Club, Cool Cities Chair, is leading an effort to raise awareness about global change, to organize the Cool Cities Coalition, and help convince counties and cities in SC to adapt Cool Cities Resolutions. See the link below to read John's reporr, find out what they are doing, and learn how to participate. We now fully engaged on a three track effort -- see below. Three teams are being formed to honcho the three efforts. Please let me know which team (or teams) you would like to serve on. Together, we can make a difference! 1. Plan, organize, and implement the Great Columbia Hybrid Rally and Festival to be held on Saturday, April 14 as part of the Step It Up 2007 national campaign. To learn more about National Day of Climate Change, click on: _http://www.stepitup2007.org/_ (http://www.stepitup2007.org/) 2. Plan, organize, and implement the Citizens Petition Drive calling upon both the Richland County Council and the Lexington County Council to pass "Cool county" resolutions. 3. Plan, organize and implement a campaign to create a Central Midlands Cool Cities Coalition a la the Roanoke Valley Cool Cities Coalition (RVCCC) created by the Cool Cities Committee of the Roanoke Group of the Sierra Club. For details about the RVCCC, click on: _http://www.rvccc.org/_ (http://www.rvccc.org/) . Over the next couple of days, I will send follow-up emails with more details about each track. Thank you for your continuing participation in the important work of our Cool Cities Committee and the emerging Central Midlands Cool Cities Coalition. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the above, please fire away. Also please RSVP about your team preference(s).
John Hartz, Chair
