The next meeting of the Central Midlands Cool Cities
Coalition is scheduled
for:
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Thursday, March 8
Gamecock Room
Luther Lee Building
1314 Lincoln St., Columbia
The primary focus of the meeting will be the three track effort
that we have embarked upon -- see below. In addition, we will have updates on
the work of the City of Columbia's Climate Protection Action Committee and of
the Richland County Transportation Study Commission. A meeting agenda will
be forwarded to you early next week.
Three Tracks/Three Teams
1. Plan, organize, and implement the Great Columbia
Hybrid Rally and Festival to be held on Saturday, April 14 as part
of the Step It Up 2007 national campaign. To learn

2. Plan, organize, and implement the Citizens Petition
Drive calling upon both the Richland County Council and
the Lexington County Council to pass "Cool county" resolutions.
3. Plan, organize and implement a campaign to create a
Central Midlands Cool Cities Coalition a
la the Roanoke Valley Cool Cities Coalition (RVCCC) created by the
Cool Cities Committee of the Roanoke Group of the Sierra Club. For details about
