Richland opposing new air quality rules

Richland County is opposing federal efforts to strengthen air-quality laws, saying new regulations would hurt the local economy.  [aside: What about local LUNGS??  And isn't tourism part of the economy?  "Come to SC where the air stinks" isn't exactly inviting!]

Tuesday, the council approved a resolution encouraging the Environmental Protection Agency to keep air standards for ozone unchanged. The three-page document noted the countys continued efforts to improve air quality.
