Sept 8: Cool Cities Committee meeting PDF Print E-mail

The time has come to energize the Cool Cities Committee of the John Bachman Group (Sierra Club). Next Meeting:

10:00 AM - Noon
West Quad Complex, USC Campus
Saturday, Sept. 8

We will use the first hour of the meeting to discuss committee structure, activities, and assignments. The second half of the meeting will be a viewing of the video, The Great Warming: It's More Than Just the Heat narrated by Keaneu Reeves and Alanis Morissette.

The Committee Activities to be discussed will include:
  • A campaign asking the Richland County Council to adopt the Cool Counties resolution (attached).
  • Holding a series of Global Warming Cafes throughout the metro area.
  • Doing a global warming/climate change Film Festival.
  • Creating an event for “Step It Up 2: Who’s a Leader?” scheduled for Sat., Nov. 3 (see below).
  • Creating a Central Midlands Climate Change Coalition.
