Friday Letter to the Editor

It’s time for U.S. to leave Afghanistan

I believe that the war in Afghanistan is illegal (Congress has never declared war) and immoral. It appears that the reason we want a presence in Afghanistan is to oversee the mining of the precious and rare metals hidden beneath the ground.

We have become the bully of the world, and it is extremely unattractive politically. We need to have diplomatic solutions, and we need to respect the sovereignty of other nations. We need to get out of Afghanistan now.
