Cardboard Chaos is coming to Columbia to present a brand new circus, "When the Levee Breaks." The show features Uncle Sam's Little Global Circus and their provocative mix of circus, puppetry, political satire and original music. "When the Levee Breaks" looks at the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Katrina in the context of race, class, the war in Iraq and the lies of the Bush administration.

The traveling road show plans a short East Coast tour on November 10-15 to:
  • organize communities to participate in and support the November 18-20 Vigil to Close the SOA
  • close the SOA
  • work for justice with the people of the Americas
In addition to the circus, we offer your community workshops in making giant puppets and political theater, all in Cardboard Chaos' distinctive style of "turning love and anger into creativity and resistance."

Last year's tour was an inspiration and rallying point for hundreds of activists in Connecticut, New York, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia as they organized for the November SOA Watch actions.

Performers in the troupe are puppeteers, stilt walkers, jugglers, political clowns and musicians, who since November of 2000 have been producing the colorful mass pageants and giant puppets at the SOA Watch demonstrations.

Funds raised on the tour will support Cardboard Chaos puppetistas in producing this year's mass pageant and giant puppets.
