Dance and drum classes and performances are coming at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and the Columbia Music Festival Association. On February 25 and 26 there will be a drum and dance workshop at Columbia Music Festival Association, 914 Pulaski Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Sessions will be taught by artists from Guinea, West Africa including: Fode Moussa Camara, Mariatou Camara, Tenenging Dioubate, Fadima Traore, Kadiatou Kante, Hamidou Koivogui, Djali Kocasale Dioubate, Laurent Camara, Mamady Sano, Facinet Bangoura and Amara Camara. Sessions begin at 9:45 each day and end at 4:30 PM. Prices are as follows: $20 per single session ($15 advanced registration) On February 23 Legends of West Africa will perform at The Koger Center in Columbia, 7:30 PM (student performance at 9:30 AM). This dynamic ensemble hails from Guinea, West Africa and represents some of the finest and most celebrated artists in the world. Come enjoy a celebration of West Africa's music and dance traditions during a performance that will have you on your feet and dancing in the isles.
